Please check your insurance coverage to be sure you and your physician have met the required pretreatment authorization requirements (e.g., second opinions or pre-certification of services). If these conditions are not met, your insurance company could deny benefits and you will be responsible for payment.
Your hospital bill
Labette Health bills your insurance company if you provide us with the proper information. If insurance payment is denied or there is a balance due after insurance payment, a statement will be mailed to you. If you have any questions or concerns about hospital charges or billing, please feel free to call the business office at 620.820.5555 during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. We will be glad to answer any questions you may have about your bill.
Payment policy
Labette Health offers a variety of options to assist you with paying your bill. Cash, check and credit cards are accepted. Payment plans can be arranged by contacting our business office at 620.820.5900. For further information regarding financial assistance, please refer to the "Notice of Financial Assistance Policy."
Physician's bill
Each physician who treats you will send you a bill separate from the one you receive from Labette Health. Consulting doctors interpret laboratory results, x-rays and other tests requested by your doctor and will also send you a bill for their services. If you have any questions about charges you receive from your doctor, you will need to contact their office directly.
Notice of financial assistance policy
Labette Health is committed to providing access to emergency and medically necessary affordable healthcare services for all of the residents of Labette County and its contiguous counties. Uninsured and underinsured individuals living within this service area are eligible to apply for financial assistance under the provisions described herein. All patients, regardless of race, creed, sex, age, national origin or financial status, may apply for financial assistance at Labette Health. Each applicant for financial assistance will be reviewed based upon an assessment of the patient's and/or family member's needs, income and financial resources.
Labette Health has a financial assistance policy that provides for a discount from billed charges for emergency and other medically necessary care furnished to eligible patients who meet specified criteria. Eligibility will be determined, after receipt of a completed application for financial assistance, based on family income and net worth, employment status, other financial obligations, amount and frequency of bills for medical care, and demonstrated effort to pay.
At any given time, if you are eligible for the financial assistance policy, you will not be asked to pay more for emergency or other medically necessary care than the amount generally billed to individuals who have insurance coverage for such care. Individuals in need of emergency care will never be denied treatment or care if they do not have insurance or are unable to pay.
