PARSONS, Kan. – Labette Health’s opening of the new Chanute Clinic and Express Care will allow patients in the Chanute, Humboldt, and Iola area access to affordable and nationally ranked healthcare services. The clinic, located at 2613 South Santa Fe Avenue, will provide family medicine services as well as express care, lab and x-ray.

The Labette Health Chanute Clinic and Express Care will be staffed with three providers who are familiar to the Chanute, Humboldt and Iola communities.

“We are very pleased to announce Jill Frazell, APRN-C; Mark Harms, PA-C; Matt Bogle, APRN-C; and Mike Carter, PA-C, as the Chanute Clinic and Express Care providers,” said Doug Stacy, Vice President Labette Medical Group. “They provide a great blend of top-notch clinical education and knowledge as well as active members and supporters of the communities.”

Frazell graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from Washburn University in 2007 and went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing from Pittsburg State University in 2012. She has practiced as a Nurse Practitioner the past six years at the Ashley Clinic in Chanute. Harms graduated from the University of Kansas in 1972 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. He went on to graduate from Wichita State University in 1976 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science as a Physician Assistant. He served the patients of the Humboldt, Chanute and Iola area for over 40 years, working with Dr. Reuben Burkman and the Ashley Clinic. He joins the Labette Health team coming out of retirement to help staff the express care and to continue his legacy of providing compassionate and affordable healthcare to his patients. Bogle graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in 2010 and went on to complete his Masters in Nursing from University of South Alabama in 2014. He has practiced as a nurse practitioner the last four years in southeast Kansas including Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center and the past year and a half at the Labette Health Erie Clinic. Carter graduated from Wichita State University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science as a Physician Assistant. He is the provider at Labette Health’s St. Paul Clinic and will also provide express care services at the Chanute clinic.

The Chanute Clinic will be the sixth operated by Labette Health outside of Parsons. The other clinics are in Altamont, Cherryvale, Erie, Independence and St. Paul. Labette Health has two additional express care locations including Parsons and Independence.

“As healthcare in our community continues to change, we must be sensitive to the increasing cost of healthcare and look for opportunities to provide affordable access points, which is our primary intent with the opening of the clinic in Chanute,” said Brian Williams, President and CEO of Labette Health. “The clinic will operate as a normal family medicine clinic by scheduling of appointments and express care will provide convenience, including walk-ins and an affordable alternative to an emergency room visit for minor illnesses and injuries.”

The Chanute Clinic and Express Care will open fall 2018, with an open house to follow. Hours of operation will be Monday-Friday from 8am to 8pm and Saturdays from 8am to 2pm.
