Summary:
Surgery Registered Nurse Circulator is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the operating room, ensuring a safe and sterile environment for patients undergoing surgery. This role involves coordinating patient care before, during, and after surgery, managing surgical equipment, and supporting the surgical team in providing high-quality care and achieving optimal surgical outcomes. The Circulator works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and proper procedural execution.
Key Responsibilities:

Verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure.

Monitor patient status and provide assistance during surgery.

Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.

Maintain a sterile environment and ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are available and functioning.

Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure timely delivery of instruments and supplies.

Assist with preparing and setting up the operating room.

Document patient care and surgical details in medical records.

Monitor patient progress during the surgery and communicate with the team.

Assist in managing emergencies or complications during surgery.

Provide immediate support in crisis situations.
Education Requirements:
- Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state nursing license.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in perioperative or surgical nursing preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required. Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) is preferred.
