Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Review and analyze insurance claims for accuracy, completeness and eligibility. Responds to requests from insurance companies to assist in efficient claims adjudication, and alert clinic management of trends and concerns.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- AR Follow Up
- Working Claim Rejection/Denial
- Credit Work Up
- Assisting Senior Claims Specialist with claim projects
- Training support claim staff
- Communicating with coding and billing staff on insurance billing policies and updates
- taking calls form insurance/patients regarding billing questions
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / EXPEREINCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School Diploma, Associate’s degree preferred
- Prior experience working in an electronic medical records and practice management system is a must
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical insurance/healthcare billing and collections in a medical practice or health system with a deep understanding of medical billing rules and regulations
- A combination of education and experience will be considered
